I've put over 200 miles on these across Oahu trail conditions — red dirt, lava rock, stream crossings, and the occasional pavement connector. These are my working notes.
Grip
On the volcanic rock sections at Kuliouou and Makiki, the lug pattern holds well even in the wet. I haven't had a slip-fall in 8 months of use. On loose red dirt, there's some lateral drift — that's physics, not a design flaw.
Drainage
Hawaii conditions mean wet feet. The Salomon drainage ports clear water faster than most trail shoes I've used. Dry time on the trail is roughly 20–30 minutes post-creek crossing.
Durability
At 200 miles, the upper is intact, the sole shows moderate wear at the heel, and the lacing system is still functional. For context, a previous non-Salomon pair showed sole delamination at 120 miles in similar conditions.
